The 16-inch Pro from 2023 is the largest and most powerful of the M2 generation: M2 Pro or M2 Max, a big mini-LED ProMotion display up to 120Hz, MagSafe 3 charging, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI and an SD slot, and a larger battery to match. As with the 14-inch, the two chips share the same body and parts, so a 16-inch M2 Pro and a 16-inch M2 Max repair the same way, only the silicon bin differs.
For repair, the large mini-LED panel and the bigger battery are the headline parts, both worth diagnosing carefully before any work. A picture fault is sometimes the display cable or the backlight circuit, not the panel, and a charging fault can be the MagSafe port, a USB-C port or the board's charging circuit.
